I was performance managed out by a toxic manager whose choice for moving me on was spelling errors. I was going through a divorce at the time where my ability to provide for the children was being argued in court to reduce my care, losing my job would have had a terrible implication on this. I was told by the manager that maybe I should quit my job and focus on the court case, how on earth could I pay my house after that she obviously didn’t factor in. After a lengthy process where I demonstrated my spelling was not an issue considering the published mistakes on the entity’s public website, I won a significant payout to cease action against the entity. This was bittersweet as this entity is known for paying out people they unfairly treat and gets away with it from staying under the radar from the fair work commission. I only hope the board are aware of this and force a change in the management.
